A small operation, said plainly
Rooms & Rides is written and researched by one person. Not a newsroom, not a masthead of contributors, and not a content agency with a rotating cast of freelancers.
We say so here because the alternative is worse. Travel sites routinely invent teams, use stock photographs as staff portraits, and attribute articles to people who do not exist. Readers work it out, and when they do, everything else on the site becomes suspect.
What that means for what you read
The trade is straightforward. A one-person site cannot be everywhere, so this one does not pretend to be.
What you will not find here: invented hotel stays, “when we visited” framing for places nobody visited, made-up test results, or stock photography passed off as ours.
What you will find: primary sources, linked so you can check them. Regulation numbers and case citations rather than “experts say”. Prices with the month they were checked. The arithmetic shown where a saving is claimed. And an explicit note where something is uncertain, disputed, or simply unknown.
That is a narrower promise than “we went there and here is our verdict”. It is also one that can be kept on every page, which matters more.
The byline
Articles are currently published under the Rooms & Rides name rather than a personal one. A named author carries more weight for this kind of content, and that will change as the site establishes itself.
Nothing published here is anonymous in the sense that matters: there is a real person behind every page, reachable through the contact page, who takes responsibility for whether it is true.
On AI
AI tools are used here for research synthesis, drafting factual sections, structuring comparisons, and technical chores like alt text and structured data.
They are not used for the verdict, the trade-offs, or the numbers. Every factual claim is checked against a primary source by a person before it publishes.
The distinction that matters is not whether a machine helped write a sentence. It is whether anyone took responsibility for whether the sentence is true. Someone does. The full position is in the editorial policy.
